Corneal Collagen Crosslinking is a minimally invasive procedure that involves zero pain. Patients who undergo this procedure do so under topical anaesthetic drops. Your cornea will be soaked in drops of Riboflavin (vitamin b2) after which it will be exposed to ultraviolet light. After the entire procedure, the surgeon will cover the cornea with a bandage contact lens. The essence of this is to keep your cornea safe at night and during the day throughout the healing period and to make you feel comfortable.
